Are changes to the status quo necessary to prevent music education becoming elitist and inaccessible to BAME pupils?
How can we use music as a "passport out lockdown" for all cultures present in the UK?

Jimmy Rotheram - Feversham's and one of the UK's leading advocates for music in a broad and balanced curriculm, will share how he has adapted the traditional approaches of Kodály and Dalcroze to be inclusive of pupils from a Pakistani/Bangladeshi Muslim background in a school where 98% of children speak English as an additional language. Please join us for a "pay as you feel" live streamed event which gets to the heart of these issues.
We have two viewing/ticket options:
ASSEMBLY HALL we have limited space in our virtual school assembly hall for those who are able to make a small financial contribution (£5 or more), which will ensure our speakers are paid for their time and may provide opportunities for future work on this topic. With one of these tickets you will be able to ask questions and your comments during the talks may get displayed on the live feed for our global audience - Get tickets here
PLAYGROUND SCREEN - we are going to set up a big pretend screen in the playground which anyone in the world will be able to view on Facebook or Twitter. You will be able to comment but it is unlikely your comments will go into the main video stream so grab a ticket if you want the world to know what you think.
Do not come to Bradford - this is a virtual live streamed event on the #CommunityLockin #Co-Conference Platform meaning you can view and be part of it from anywhere in the world
A STEAM Co. Co-Conference
STEAM Co. is holding this event, a #CoConference from their #CommunityLockIn as part of our Arts Council and LGfL supported #UKArt Takeover.
We've worked with Feversham for many years since we visited with their #RocketKids Session on the day that Jimmy Rotheram happened to have been shortlisted for the $1m Global Teacher prize and blagged the biggest video screen they have ever seen, let alone had in their playground. It really was a day for the community to remember.
Jimmy has since spoken at several STEAM Co. events and even joined us on main stage at Camp Bestival to lead a Sister Sledge and Chic medley mass sing along with over 20,000 families as you can see below!
