A blank piece of paper?
Yes, STEAM Co. have been given a field at the UK’s fastest growing family festival - LakeFest 7-10 Aug 2025 in the most stunning location, Eastnor Castle in Herefordshire.
But this web page is the blankest you’ll have ever seen, because we haven’t made it up yet and need your help to co-create what we’re calling #OurArtCamp.
We want you to be part of it with your art.

Announcement
See the film below of what happened when we flew back to Eastnor Castle in #StarShip22 for a chat with the local legend Lee Martin, the man behind Lakefest and whose roller coaster journey of learning how to run a festival the hard way is documented in his biography ‘Festival of Love and Pain’
A CELEBRATION OF WHAT MAKES US HUMAN
For over ten years now, STEAM Co. have been clear about what our art is - it’s what makes us human. And what connects us to other humans.
There’s no app or AI bot for that!
As Seth Godin says in the film here, “we are leaving the industrial economy and entering the connection economy. Art is what we call it when what we do might connect us”.
In our sessions in schools and communities, fetes and festivals across the UK we talk about the importance of finding our art - something that might help us make some money, make a few friends or make the world a better place.
See the film of the STEAM Co. back story below.

Our previous with Lakefest
Lakefest is the UK’s fastest growing family festival and we flew there in #StarShip22 back in 2023 and had a fantastic weekend building #OurSeeMonster - an oil rig from cardboard, code and our creativity a beacon for the Creativity Revolution our chidlren, our communities and our country desperatly need.
Have a look at the film above of our chat with BBC Radio Hereford and Worcester.
#ARTCAMP20
Back in 2020 as lockdown was lifting and with our spiritual home Camp Bestival cancelled, we took the bold step to run our own festival, in a Devonshire meadow.
Inspired by the castle at Lulworth Castle, we set out to build castles in the sky.
With talks, poetry, workshops, screenings, performances, chats round the campfire, a light trail and an art trail we had a great weekend at #ArtCamp20.
See the film below or read more here.
FINALLY
We do have to say that Lakefest is a lovely lovely festival, in a beautiful setting - one of the UK’s finest - but what really swung it for us is that they have the UK’s best Waltzers ride there every year from Danters.
And we like The Waltzers.
Faster. Faster. Faster. Hold tight everybody.
