USING OUR PAST

TO INSPIRE ALL OUR FUTURES

This year as part of our quest to see how #ArtConnects we’re looking back to look forward, looking at steam power, inventors like Brunel, Darby and Stephenson (it was a white man thing back then but not tomorrow!)

Check out this film of our launch pop-up event on Feb 17th at the Festival of Tomorrow at the STEAM Museum in Swindon on the site of Brunel’s former Great Western Railway works.

SERENDIPITY IS OUR ROCKET FUEL

Look how a wrong turn in the Cotswolds in #StarShip22 led to an idea, and you ain’t seen nothing yet.

Who ever said we’re making this up as we go along.

LET’S REWRITE THE WAY THIS WORLD DOES TURN

Tonight I just want to paint pictures of you

Write poems and songs and novels all about you

Following on the heels of Brunel’s steam ships, in 1912 Titanic left Belfast dockyard for the first time, never to return .

Now serendipitious then that the day after we announced our #STEAMpowered24 year, two creative brothers in a band called Orbital relased a film of a mashup of one of their anthems from the 90’s, set in that same place, a shadow of its former self but reinventing itself on creativity

Enjoy ‘Tonight in Belfast’ mashed up with the beautiful words of poet Mike Garry.

This is art, an anthem for the year ahead.

Because things can only get better if we #CollaborateForCreativity.
