Our final day in Somerset featured memorable moments, with even the rain making an appearance to cap that legendary Glasto spirit.
A Shadow Culture Minister and former actor promised to keep banging the drum to keep the creative industries alive and thriving. Master cartoonist Chris Riddel popped in with his pencils and let his imagination soar as Granddad Tony Corby talked about the biggest free kids’ festival, which he has run for 25 years at Glastonbury. Catch the session below, you do not want to miss the magic!
A Rockstar Activator brought in a special guest and led a drum circle with percussionists joining in from across the globe. We built a cardboard pyramid in our front yard complete with a pirate flag. Had a #FirepitChat with none other than iconic film director Don Letts …

10:00 We are Pirates/Punk2.0
Nick Corston being Nick and introducing the day’s line-up, wearing his fav Matt Hancock I Love Art t-shirt (which you too can own through our shop!), fighting a bird, and obviously pumped to build a pyramid with a pirate flag later in the day. A true kid at heart.
10:30 Art for ALL
Shadow Culture Minister Tracy Brabin had no idea she would have to answer questions from Ali G (well, sort of …) but was a great sport. The former actor (Coronation Street, etc.) and writer understands the creative industries inside out and as a politician, has taken up the mantle of fighting for the sector to thrive. Check out her very inspiring and positive chat.
11:00 Making Theatre - It's Kids Play
The final of three theatre and storytelling workshops over the weekend from Sharon Kanolik and Katie Turner of Bounce Theatre. Today, they present four year old Daniel’s story about animals. Great stuff for all kids and anyone looking for a springboard for their own storytelling.
11:30 Pirates of the Carabina Circus
Straight out of south Somerset, Pirates of the Carabina Circus’ first performance was a commission for the Glastonbury Festival, which led to gigs all over the world. So, you can imagine how excited we were to have founding member and aerialist Shaena Brandel at #YourGlasto! Listen to her experiences and enjoy a backstage view of circus life.
12:00 Drawing out the Truth
A truly magical encounter. Two icons, one stage. Chris Riddell once again showed us his skill of sketching conversations and satirising key sentiments and images. As the prolific political cartoonist for the Observer drew live on #YourGlasto, he was joined by Tony Cordy, who for 25 years, has been the mastermind behind Kidzfield at Glastonbury Festival, the worlds biggest free art festival for kids. Listen to Tony’s fascinating stories and visions while Chris’ hand plays.
13:00 Little Big Lunch
As if on cue, and in true Glasto spirit, the rain threatened as we moved outside to build that long anticipated #MyPyramidStage. But not to worry, we are pirates and adventurers, and nothing held us back. We built a proper cardboard pyramid while encouraging the whole country to do the same. Nipped to the Co-op, who generously sponsored our BrewDog beers and a bit of grub and had our enviable Little Big Lunch out on the street waving at neighbours. Festive festival good times.
15:00 Drum Circle
Former Scritti Politti drummer and Rockstar Activator extraordinaire Tom Morley, along with his special guest, inclusive musical community Electric Umbrella led by Tom Billington, take us on a guided musical journey on which everyone could join via Zoom with their percussive instrument of choice... Let loose, move and dance, and enjoy a full screen of happy ravers.
16:00 A Call for Creativity
Plucked from #BrewEdTheArts, Daniel Shindler graced our pretend Pyramid Stage at #YourGlasto!The author of In Search: Reimagining What it Means to be a Teacher (Grosvenor House), he was a teacher of drama, wellbeing, and project–based learning within inner cities and internationally, and was architect of School21’s ground-breaking oracy curriculum. Kick back, pop a can, and enjoy his rhythmic words of wisdom.
16:30 Off Main Stage at Glasto
If you really want to get in on the backstage action at Glastonbury, this is the man you want to befriend! Stephen Malit runs the Unfairground, which is a late night area (we love late nights), Cineramageddon, a drive-in art cinema with mutated cars, and Glastonbury-on-Sea, a huge pier jutting out of the festival grounds … making exciting films of everything off main stage. Joining us by a fire from the picturesque village of Pilton, the host village of the festival, Stephen pulls us into stimulating conversation about his career as a ‘translator’ of highly creative people and projects. Not to miss.
17:00 Postmodern Jukebox Covers
Professional vocalist, Somerset native, former Brookside Academy pupil, and a country bumpkin at heart, Shalana Serafina talks about her acting and performance career. Watch her belt contemporary songs in ways you’ve seldom heard. And discuss her dual heritage. She smashed it!
17:15 Farm to Fork
Nick Corston talks to butcher and former Michelin Star chef Nick Booth at the Queen’s Park farmers market. Look out for his book of meat recipes inspired by customers from all walks of life.
19:00 Fire Pit Chats with Chris Sullivan
He is the DJ who introduced a whole generation of punks to reggae music. He toured with The Clash all over the world. A prolific documentary filmmaker, he co-founded the band Big Audio Dynamite with Clash guitarist Mick Jones, acting as the group's sampler and videographer before departing the band in 1990. He is Don Letts. Letts also directed music videos for Musical Youth, The Psychedelic Furs, The Pretenders and Elvis Costello as well as the feature documentaries The Punk Rock Movie (1977) and The Clash: Westway to the World (2000). An absolute privilege to have him on our stage. An exclusive chat that brought down the house.

20:30 A Jazz Songstress
Science teacher by day, and jazz diva by night, Winnie Greer has performed at the international Eisteddfod music competitions and sung at the Concert House in Vienna. She has been called the British equivalent to the wonderful Ella. Hear why here!
21:00 Born to Jam!
Closing act Mr Lloyd W Jones is a fine example of how Steam Co. strives to connect creativity with community, workplaces, and lives. A firm reminder that teachers should not be misunderstood, and that the fire in their belly really does change and make the world a better place. Enjoy as Welshman Lloyd Jones sings soulfully from the heart. This, the evening before his first day on the job as a newly minted Deputy Head Teacher. Talk about full-circle. Thank you for an unforgettable weekend!
